To maximize your garden space, it is always best to know how much space your plants really need. Here is a simple guide for common vegetables:
- 3 inches between beets, radishes, carrots, ginger, onions, leeks, turnips and parsnips
- 4 inches between bush beans and spinach
- 6 inches between lettuce and chards
- 12 inches between corn, eggplant, pepper, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, peas, runner beans
