Time To Plant

Yes, it is time to start planning and planting your winter garden. Many people don’t realize you can garden in the winter but you can. In fact, there are many plants which actually thrive quite well in cool weather. (We have listed some of them below.) Winter is actually a wonderful time to plant, because in many areas there is enough natural water to sustain vegetation throughout the winter and many weeds don’t grow in winter, creating a garden that is easier to maintain than the average spring garden. Just remember to be aware of frost dates and be mindful of what will and what will not grow in cold weather. Here are a few suggestions for your winter garden.
